stephen lee wilcock who sadly died in tragic circumstances of a hidden heart defect after it was first thought it was just an asthma attack on the 11th of september 1998 at the very young age of 18.Before he passed away stiggy as he was also known to his friends worked at burtons clothes store in blackburn town centre a job in which he enjoyed very much . Ste lived with his father in oswaldtwistle around the time he passed away.
stephen left behind a loving mother Linda and step father martin who both doted on him so much along with his 3 sisters Hayley, Bethany and Karen, younger brother Daniel and step brother glen.
Me and stephen grew up together from a very early age we went to the same primary school St marys and St Joseph's were we shared great times from playing in the same football team to fun sports days were we loved to compete against 1 another. We both went on to the same High School together which was Our Ladys and St Johns R.C High School up until our 2nd year when me and my family uprooted to clitheroe which is were i sadly lost contact with stephen .It was away from school were we shared our fondest memorys back in the day when we lived around what was called whitendale crescent which wasnt far from our school.
me my twin brother danny, robert garrity and stephen would enjoy things from having a kick about away from school to golf ball collecting up on the golfing range which was newly built back then . Great memorys!!!
I created this tribute page because i think you will all agree that Stephen may be gone but he surely will never be forgotten so please if view this page spread the word to people to come and have a look at it and maybe pay a tribute of there own or even light a candle..
I recently got back in touch with stephens mum Linda and karen his sister and they are such an inspiration to him and i know he will be looking down on all of his family and friends with a lick of his lips and a flick of his hair like the stephen we all know would..
Hi mate
always remember you being best at sports day and everyday playing footy on the playground with a small blue flyaway football. I think ive still got the photo's of our first holy communion with our dodgy grey cardigans they made us wear. Definitely one of the good guys and sadly missed. In my thoughts marc
10 years on and still in my thoughts
it only seems like yesterday since we was playing around on whitendale by the maisonettes without a care in the world, whether it be playing hide and seek or kirby with our football, oh i wish i could go back to then if only for one day :-)
i always remember how we used to climb the apple tree at the back of the pub on pringle street and how we used to climb it plucking the apples from the branches then throwing them down to eachother , looking back its quite funny that we'd go to all the effort climbing it knowing we'd never eat them as they were the sourest apples ever!! :-)
its 10years on stiggy and the memory of you is as strong as ever, keep looking over your family and keep them safe.
By the way i hope up there your drinking the decent stuff (twinings tea) till its coming out of your ears, i wont be happy if it was anything else :-) take care stiggy . i promise to keep your memory alive along with your family and friends
